A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Are you an oppressor who is also being oppressed?

Do you only seek the Lord in times of trouble?

Are you being oppressed for godly living and the name of Christ, or for wrongdoings and lustful desires?

DAY # 112

TODAY’S REQUEST:

FOR FAITH IN GOD:

THE LORD IS A REFUGE FOR THE OPPRESSED

Isaiah 25:4 For You have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
Psalms 76:7 You, Yourself, are to be feared; And who may stand in Your presence When once You are angry? 8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth feared and was still, 9 When God arose to judgment, To deliver all the oppressed of the earth.
Isaiah 58:6-10 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ "If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, 10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

PLACING OUR TRUST IN HIM AT ALL TIMES

Psalms 9:9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.
Psalms 62:8 Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.
Psalms 146:5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, 6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, 7 Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners. 8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD raises those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous. 9 The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. 10 The LORD shall reign forever––Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!
