A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Do you find comfort in God’s Word because the Comforter lives in you?

Do not be fooled by false religions… Do you know that the God of all comfort will judge and condemn those He comforted but who did not repent of their sins and placed their faith in Christ?

Are you comforted by the promises of God that are exclusively for believers?

DAY # 283

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAYING FOR DIVINE COMFORT IN SUFFERING

2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 7:4-6 Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation. 5 For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. 6 Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,
Psalms 86:17 Show me a sign for good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
Psalms 119:52 I remembered Your judgments of old, O LORD, And have comforted myself.
Acts 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like–minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

REASSURED BY THE HOPE OF LIFE IN GOD’S WORD

Psalms 94:19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalms 71:21 You shall increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side.
Psalms 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.
Psalms 119:76 Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort, According to Your word to Your servant.
Psalms 119:82 My eyes fail from searching Your word, Saying, "When will You comfort me?"
1 Thessalonians 5:11-18 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
