A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Do you pray to persevere in the faith (believing in Christ Jesus) during your brief stay on earth, or to prolong the pleasures of your flesh?

Are you detached from the things of this world, preparing your eternal destination?

Do you pray for the quality and length of your life but not for eternal life in Christ?

DAY # 271

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAYING FOR LIFE ON EARTH

Psalms 90:10 The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
James 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
Luke 21:34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

WITH SINCERITY OF HEART AND FAITH IN GOD

Job 11:13 "If you would prepare your heart, And stretch out your hands toward Him; 14 If iniquity were in your hand, and you put it far away, And would not let wickedness dwell in your tents; 15 Then surely you could lift up your face without spot; Yes, you could be steadfast, and not fear; 16 Because you would forget your misery, And remember it as waters that have passed away, 17 And your life would be brighter than noonday. Though you were dark, you would be like the morning. 18 And you would be secure, because there is hope; Yes, you would dig around you, and take your rest in safety.
Hebrews 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
1 Peter 2:15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men––
2 Timothy 2:4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
1 Peter 4:2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
