A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Are you constantly defending your so-called “rights”?

Are you able to remove yourself from the equation when dealing with the needs of others?

Have you denied yourself and taken your cross to follow Christ?

DAY # 267

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAYING FOR SELF-DENIAL

John 12:25 "He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
Leviticus 19:13 ‘You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.
Mark 8:34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
Deuteronomy 27:17 ‘Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor‘s landmark.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
Deuteronomy 27:24 ‘Cursed is the one who attacks his neighbor secretly.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

PLACING CHRIST FIRST, AND OTHER PEOPLE’S NEEDS AHEAD OF OUR OWN

Matthew 5:43-48 "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 "And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Galatians 5:18-23 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self–control. Against such there is no law.
