A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

The Lord Jesus told a disciple requesting permission to attend his father's funeral "Let the dead bury their dead!"... Are you still among the dead?

Can you affirm having been transformed into a spiritual being through the power of the Holy Spirit?

Are you still dead in your sins, living in darkness without Christ?

DAY # 265

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAYING FOR A SPIRITUAL AWAKENING

Romans 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established
Romans 6:8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
1 Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

WITH LOVE FOR AND SUBMISSION TO THE WORD OF GOD.

A Desire to study and meditate on the Word of God day and night

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Romans 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
