A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Where else, besides the life of a believer can trial and joy make a healthy combination?

Have you been persecuted, ridiculed, and mistreated because of your faith in Christ?

Has your faith been tested by various trials?

DAY # 238

TODAY’S REQUEST:

TO COUNT IT ALL JOY WHEN WE FALL INTO TRIALS

James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
John 16:20-22 "Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. 21 "A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.22 "Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

WITH NEWLY PRODUCED PATIENCE

Matthew 5: 10-16 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. 13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always,
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith––the salvation of your souls.
