A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Most Christians will agree that we live in a world of darkness, but too few have the courage to shine the light of Christ in this perverse generation; what about you?

Are you taking heed that the light that is in you is not actually darkness?

Are you a night person, do you “do your things” mainly in the darkness?

DAY # 187

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAYING THAT WE MAY SHINE AS LIGHTS IN THE WORLD

Luke 11:33-36 "No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light. 34 "The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 "Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. 36 "If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light."
John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
John 9:5 "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
John 12:46 "I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

HOLDING FAST THE WORD OF LIFE

Philippians 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. 14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
