A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Have you read that David, after he had been anointed king by Samuel to replace Saul turned down the opportunity to kill him twice, choosing instead to wait on the Lord to fulfill His plan?

While patience is an element of the fruit of the Spirit, isn’t it also the main product of true faith in Christ?

Are you among those who claim to have faith in Christ, but use all kinds of ungodly, worldly, and pagan ways to achieve their goals?

DAY # 176

TODAY’S REQUEST:

FOR PATIENCE:

LEARNING TO WAIT ON THE LORD

Psalms 27:14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
Psalms 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.
Psalms 37:34 Wait on the LORD, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Revelation 2:2 "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;
3 "and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.
Revelation 2:19 "I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

PATIENTLY WAITING IN FAITH ON HIS PROMISE

Hosea 12:6 So you, by the help of your God, return; Observe mercy and justice, And wait on your God continually.
Psalms 52:1-9 Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. 2 Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 3 You love evil more than good, Lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah 4 You love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue. 5 God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, And uproot you from the land of the living. 6 The righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying, 7 "Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness." 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. 9 I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.
James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
