A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Do you see characteristics of yours in the following list: an insensitive heart, a proud look, a rebellious spirit, and an unforgiving heart?

Is it easier for you to shed tears for the suffering of others than it is to give them a helpful hand with service or money?

Have you meditated on the fact that today’s society cares much about saving lives of animals but yet adamantly defends and  supports the killing of human in the womb?

DAY # 138

TODAY’S REQUEST:

TO BE ATTENTIVE, CARING, NOT INDIFFERENT AND SELFISH

Luke 19:45-48 Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
46 saying to them, "It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’" 47 And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, 48 and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.
2 Timothy 3:1-6 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self–control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

KEEPING OUR EYES ON THE NEEDS OF OTHERS

Matthew 24:10-12 "And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Luke 10:29-37 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
30 Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 "Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 "Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 "So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 "On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ 36 "So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?" 37 And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
