A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

When true believers in Christ are going through difficult times, instead of murmuring, complaining or getting depressed, they should ask the following questions:

Lord, are you trying to get my attention on something in particular through this particular trial?

Is the Lord using these difficult times to draw me closer to Him and depend more on Him?

Is the Lord using this hardship to solidify the foundation of my faith in Christ?

DAY # 64

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAISING GOD IN DIFFICULT TIME,

ACKNOWLEDGING THE JUSTICE OF OUR CHASTISEMENT

Nehemiah 9:32 "Now therefore, our God, The great, the mighty, and awesome God, Who keeps covenant and mercy: Do not let all the trouble seem small before You That has come upon us, Our kings and our princes, Our priests and our prophets, Our fathers and on all Your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until this day. 33 However You are just in all that has befallen us; For You have dealt faithfully, But we have done wickedly.

Isaiah 26:16 LORD, in trouble they have visited You, They poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.

Hebrews 12:8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

BEING CORRECTED BY A JUST GOD, AND A LOVING FATHER

Job 5:17 "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

Proverbs 3:11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; 12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Psalms 33:22 Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.

Hebrews 12:5-7 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; 6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives." 7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?
