A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Do you praise God for who He is or for what He gives?

Does your praising God depend on life’s circumstances and emotional vicissitudes?

Are you hiding from God because of a sinful life?

Do you know that a sincere repentance will enable you to reconcile with the Father through faith in the Son, ending up with a new life engendered by the Holy Spirit?

DAY # 61

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAISING GOD, OUR FATHER, WITH JOY

Colossians 1:9-11 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

Acts 3:8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them - walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

Luke 24:51-53 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.

Psalms 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.

Psalms 112:1 Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who delights greatly in His commandments.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

WALKING, SINGING, LEAPING, AND PRAISING THE LORD OUR GOD

1 Peter 1:6-9 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith——the salvation of your souls.

1 Thessalonians 1:6 And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

Psalms 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
