A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Which bread do you pray for, the bread that perishes or the bread of eternal life?

Is your trust placed in the Lord to provide your daily bread, or is it really in your own strength?

Are your skills, your boss, your family, your friends, the government... trusted more than God in seeking your daily bread?

DAY # 48

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAYING FOR OUR DAILY BREAD

Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’"

Luke 15:17 "But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

John 6:31 "Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’"

John 6:32 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

John 6:35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

John 6:48-51 "I am the bread of life. 49 "Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 "This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

AS A CHILD ASKS HIS FATHER

Luke 11:10 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 "Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

Galatians 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"
